Portraiture is my means of conveying distinct characters, emotions, and personalities. I primarily work in self-portraiture to construct layered narratives about my story. Plants, animals, and objects carry symbolic meanings—so familiar that we often overlook them—and I use these motifs to reveal hidden connections and inner states.
My family is from Fujian, and I was raised within Hong Kong’s rich tradition of Chinese culture. As an artist I aim to articulate a feminine voice within Hong Kong culture, creating work that reflects both the histories of Fujian and the lived experience of Hong Kong and New York.
